Hargrove Capabilities

The Hargrove facility is strategically located in Lanham, Maryland, near the Washington, DC Beltway. Our state-of-the-art 350,000 square foot facility is unique in its scale and diversity; a showcase for special events production, trade show production, custom exhibits, and refurbishment. The facility houses one of the largest production facilities in the nation, including advanced design, graphics, and art departments, metal and woodworking shops, exhibit, paint, and float-building shops.

The Fabrication Shop encompasses more than 35,000 square feet with 18' clear working ceiling height for woodworking, metalworking, plastics production, and laminating. There are full steel and aluminum welding capabilities, and electronic ballast color corrected lighting.

The Design Studio is a self-sufficient CADD-capable and 3-D department staffed by full time designers. The 3-D system allows our clients to "walk through" multiple perspective images of their projects' designs and is the most flexible and efficient way to make design modifications. The creativity of the designers is complemented by the extensive array of software, printers, and peripherals at their disposal.

The Paint Shop is a 5,000 square foot work area in addition to a 16'x16'x40' Binks spray booth with color correct lighting. Hargrove has exclusive use of HVLP spray equipment capable of handling latex, lacquer, enamel, and two-part epoxy application. Ceiling heights ranging from 18' to 40' allow large-scale mural production in this area as well.

The Art Shop is a 4,400 square foot work area specializing in theatrical finishes, faux finishes, and scenic art. A staff of professional artists work on sculpting, carving, creating dimensional projects, and producing large-scale murals and backdrops.

The Vinyl Room is a 1,100 square foot area where vinyl and digital output is applied to create large and small signs and banners. State-of-the-art substrates, including recycled products, are used to produce the signs and banners.

The Graphics Computer and Router Room is housed in a 2,250 square foot work area and is equipped with more than $300,000 in computer equipment. Our workstations include large format printers, a hot and cold laminator, router tables, and all of the latest graphic software programs. What is most impressive about the Hargrove Graphics Department is its flexibility; our clients can receive designs of hand painted backdrops or a design of the latest in technology of a digital output.

The Float Shop is staffed by veterans of Presidential Inaugural Parades, Thanksgiving parades, Fourth of July parades, and Miss America Parades. The shop is readily supplemented by equipment and staff from other areas of the company and outside experts to produce the required number of floats for major parades in the allotted time.

The Prop Inventory includes miles of two-story storage for Hargrove's extensive prop inventory. The props, valued at more than one million dollars, are controlled by a state-of-the-art job tracking software and accessed by $150,000 in high reach lift equipment.

Storage services include manifesting and maintaining a current record of all exhibits, props, and sets in inventory. Hargrove’s facility includes 135,000-square-feet of heated and air-conditioned warehouse space with 35’ clear ceiling height. High reach lift equipment and job tracking software insure the accessibility of all exhibits, props, sets, and trade show components in storage.

The Loading Dock includes 25 climate-controlled loading docks to ensure timely loading and transportation of materials, while also accommodating our transportation fleet of tractor-trailers, straight trucks, cargo vans, and other trucks. We also have a national rental agreement providing us with unlimited additional transportation resources.
